Don‘t Be Afraid of New Technology
If you are like me from the older generation then you may at times have trouble adjusting to new technology. Manufacturers are releasing new gadgets faster than the mass can absorb them. In particular, the younger generation is fairly quick in adopting new products and technologies. However, there is no reason to be afraid. Even all the people are able to adjust to new advances in technology easily. Just follow the below rules and you will understand what I’m talking about.
It is not just the older generation but people in general were technically challenged who have trouble using new products and services. As you know, it is easier to learn something new than it is to change one’s habits. So if you have been using a particular device or I used to particular lifestyle that is is usually quite difficult to adjust to a new way of doing things. However, manufacturers have attempted to simplify life by introducing a barrage of products. Usually, manufacturers are attempting to boost the performance and number of features of the products. But that is not always what is important. In my opinion, manufacturers should focus more on making the products more user-friendly. Especially technology products are often quite complicated to operate. Just take a computer for example.
The computer should be as intuitive as a light switch. All that it really would need as an on off switch and the microphone so that the user can easily tell the computer what is required. But instead, uses are confronted with a perplexing user interface and having to install software which is complicated to operate also. Despite Microsoft’s effort to unify the user interface of different applications, each program still has a learning curve. In fact, there’s a whole industry out there specializing in teaching uses how to operate certain programs on the computer.
How much easier would be if manufacturers could adopt technology which was displayed on television 20 years ago. Such technology would be voice activated and simply execute whatever request the user would have. The user does not have to concern himself with having to install different types of applications and possibly certain applications not working for certain purposes. Also, computer related products are fairly unstable. They tend to crash often.
However, don’t be afraid. If you don’t have a 10-year-old who can help you use all of these new technologies, just stick with those products which are simple to operate. Many things which are available are totally useless for practical applications. But of course if you have too much time on your hands then feel free to venture out and investigate what’s out there.
